The University of Leicester has a hugely diverse student body whose voice needs to be heard. We understand that every students experiences University in a different way, and that our students have a range of diverse needs.
Equality and Liberation Champions (ELCs), represent the needs and views of students who are frequently underrepresented in the curriculum, social activities and other aspects of University life. They work with our Students' Union staff to represent, engage and help to improve the experience of students from a liberation background i.e. BAME, Women, LGBT+, Trans and Non-binary and Accesibility. Together, we aim to create an inclusive, decolonised and accessible curriculum and campus.
Last year, your Champions were involved in a range of fantastic events across campus, including Black History Month, LGBT+ inclusion, and Inclusivity Fortnight. Recruitment for this year's ELC's open in the middle of September through a simple application process, full details will appear here shortly.
