We are working with the University's Career Development Service to bring you a variety of live Q&A sessions, covering a range of topics to help you with your next step. These will be running from 28 May - 25 June 2020.
We understand that right now you may need support in: finding opportunities, writing an effective application, interview tips, networking online, creating a great LinkedIn profile and how to transition from student to graduate life.
We wanted to provide careers support in an easy, interactive way so there will be opportunities throughout the sessions for you to ask any questions you may have. This is also a great chance to find out more about what the service can offer and how they can support you throughout your time at university, but also once you graduate. We understand that during the current circumstances you may be feeling even more overwhelmed or uncertain when it comes to careers and your next step, so we hope that you find these helpful and practical.
This session will be hosted the SU and the Career Development Service.
This session will be covering:
What options are available to me now
What are the skills and experiences you can develop through volunteering
There will be a 10 minute presentation and then a 20 minute Q&A to ask them both any questions you have.
This session will be hosted by your Activities Officer Elle and the Career Development Team.
Virtual assessment centres
This session will be hosted the SU, the Career Development Service & Sport and Active Life.
Open to finalists, who are graduating in July 2020, the Virtual ConsultancyChallenge, part of My Student Journey, is a great way to gain practical, hands-on voluntary experience during lockdown. Working in teams, solve a real-world business problem for a professional client and receive support from the Career Development Service to develop your skills.
