They are responsible for gathering and collating student feedback relating to their academic course, as well as feeding this information back to the relevant staff in their department.
At least one Course Rep exists for each degree programme or cluster of interconnected courses, consisting of fewer than 50 students per year.
For programmes with more than 50 students per year, at least two Course Reps will be appointed.
The representation system is based on the work of over 360 Course Reps across the University of Leicester.
Lead Union Reps
Each department has two Lead Union Representatives who represent the students in their department at Union Council. Lead Reps may sit on College Academic Committees, where they feed important issues discussed in the department up to a higher level.
Your Education Officer works closely with all Reps and raises topics that require attention to the highest levels within the University.
