Scrutiny Panel

Advocating Union standards and beliefs

Scrutiny Panel is the body which serves to uphold the values of the Union, ensuring that your representatives, including the Executive Officers, are held to account. They interview the Executive Officers, view their presentations and write written reports on their achievements, in order to evaluate their progress and make sure that they have next steps in place in order to move forward.

Who sits on Scrutiny Panel?

Scrutiny Panel is made up of four student members.

How can I get involved?

We have elections every October, so keep an eye out and prepare for the campaign trail.

Approximately, what is the voluntary commitment required?

It changes week on week, depending on when the next Union Council meeting is or if there are any Elections at that time. Generally, being a part of scrutiny panel takes between 3-5 hours a week during term time.

What support is there?

The Students' Union has a dedicated staff team to support you. We also offer you role specific training and give you access to further skills development workshops with the Training Team. These link directly to an Accreditation Scheme which rewards you for the hard work you do.
