    The Action Homeless Food Stop provides emergency food support to people in crisis in Leicester. We are looking for volunteers to help us to support the running of the shop.

    Main tasks and activities:

    • Processing and sorting donations
    • Transferring donations from storage to storefront
    • Checking customer ID to ensure each one receives the correct food parcel
    • Creating food parcels for customers based on their wants and needs.
    • Acting as a friendly, approachable point of contact in store

    Volunteers will be required to follow our health and safety procedures at all times.

    Be part of the team that organises and plans events (such as dessert nights, quizzes, mountain climbs) throughout the year to help fund our aim to enable local youth to make positive contributions to their community.

    We are looking for self motivated people that can take a lead in putting together fundraising events. We have a number of events planned throughout the year that you would help to put on. We are also happy to look into new ideas. Ideas can involve young people or not. You may be required to complete a DBS check with us depending on the role and type of events.     Support us with the implementation and management of our various digital services. Roles can be supportive or you can take a lead in a specific area.

    COG Youth Services Ltd was officially constitued in March 2013 but has been operated since Sept 2009. We are a volunteer led community organisation. We are a Company Limited by Guarantee and operate on the charitable end of the spectrum.

    Our goal is to create opportunities for young people from Leicester and Leicestersire, aged 13-18, to grow and develop thier skills and experience so that they can enter adulthood with the skills they need to thrive.

    In order to do this we have various roles, for adult volunteers, to support the organisation and ensure our projects run smoothly. Roles may also involve managing or supporting young people, through 'work experience' style volunteering. Due to this, some roles may require you to be DBS checked by us. Experience in the area isn't necessary but we do ask that you have a genuine interest in the field and have the self motivatation to complete any tasks.

    The role of Digital Services Officer is wide ranging and offers our adults the chance to focus on the areas they are interested in.

    - Website Management
    - Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
    - Video creation (YouTube)
    - Podcast director

    Recycling Ambassador

    We are looking for people that are passionate about tackling climate change. We have 3 ways you can volunteer for our project but if you register for this position, we will assume you want to go the extra mile and be one of our most involved volunteers.

    We have 3 types of Recycling Ambassadors.

    1) Collectors - you will collect certain items and donate them to one of our various public collection points.

    2) Sorters - we host a drop-in session, every Saturday, 1-2pm. Here you help us sort the donations in to the correct boxes.

    3) Planners - you will take a lead in small projects and help us develop our existing projects and start new ones.

    Planners will be given a small recycling project and will be enabled to develop that project. Depending on the project, you maybe required to undertake a DBS check.
