We are here to help with all your housing queries and use the term ‘housing’ to refer to all types of property, including flats. For example, if you want to know your rights, need help resolving an issue with your landlord/housemate or need to leave a property, come and see us for some advice.

Leicester has lots of housing available so there is no need to rush into signing for a house. There are many different types of housing available to students: University Halls of Residence, Private Letting, and Private Housing. You have different rights and responsibilities in each situation. We can advise you on the advantages and disadvantages of each option, as well as signposting to relevant support services depending on your query.

Our role in providing you housing advice 

  1. If you have an issue with your University-owned accommodation, we can guide you through the complaints process and help you present your concerns.
  2. If you live in privately-owned accommodation, we can point you towards the support services that can help with your situation.

We recommend that you
