University of Leicester have a dedicated team who are here to help you settle into life in Leicester and support you in your studies.

What do they do?

The team hold regular, free events throughout the year, which all University of Leicester students and staff are welcome to attend. These include games afternoons, culturally-themed craft sessions, quiz nights, as well one-off celebrations and cultural events.

  • Make new friends from around the world.

  • Take part in regular events and activities, including craft sessions, quiz nights and more!

  • Experience and learn about the different cultures in our global community, as well as share your own!

What can they support me with?

  • They work with teams across the University to ensure that you as international students get the guidance and support you need to make the most of your time in the UK.

  • If you have any questions or need support but aren’t sure who to go to, head to their Global Lounge Help Hub, Ground Floor of the Charles Wilson Building, every Tuesday and Thursday, anytime between 12.00pm and 2.00pm - no appointment required. for directions on the campus map, just click here!

ELTU

If you are studying at or about to begin studying at University of Leicester, the team offer a wide range of English Language and Study Skills courses to help you.

Pressessional English Language Programme - This programme gives you the English language and academic skills you need for successful study at a UK university. When you complete with suitable grades, you will then have the English language entry requirements for University of Leicester degree programmes.

Short Course -  Are you looking for a short programme that includes a mix of academic learning and also a chance to meet students outside of term time? There are a collection of options available to you! The University of Leicester’s English Language Teaching Unit will be running an exciting collection of International English Programmes. Their three-week programmes combine general and academic English classes with subject specific content, as well as a varied social programme where students will meet and socialise together. They are experienced in designing and delivering short courses to meet the specific requirements of educational institutions and other organisations from a range of countries

Academic Skills for International Students - The Centre for International Training and Education (CITE) offers a range of free modules, lectures and workshops developed together with academic departments to meet the needs of international students currently studying at the University of Leicester.
