Are you a STEM student? Just interested in science? The Interdisciplinary Sciences Society is a place for all students to branch out across the scientific disciplines. Modern science is not just physics, or chemistry or biology alone; it's a wonderful blend of disciplines that come together to solve and discover ground-breaking ideas that change our view of the world.

About us

The Interdisciplinary Sciences Society (previously named Natural Sciences Society) was created by natural sciences students to branch out across the university and give everyone the chance to explore science in a way that is not usually offered in many courses. Though Natural Sciences is coming to an end at the University of Leicester, combining disciplines in the working world to solve problems and create new ideas has never been more important.

We welcome students from all courses, STEM-based or not. Your only criteria for joining is a genuine interest in STEM and how disciplines can combine to discover new and exciting ideas.

Not only will we aim to host workshops for different topics and skills such as microscopy, astronomy, palaeontology, computing and more, but we will also be inviting experts from all different fields to share their own knowledge, with the aim of beginning an annual end-of-year STEM conference.
