Welcome to LASS !

Founded in 2015, Leicester's Actuarial Science Society, is a student led university society and a regional community of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for student actuaries across the Leicester, Coventry and Peterbrough area.

We aim to :

  • Give students exposure and access to a range of actuarial employers and organisations.
  • Develop some of the necessary actuarial skills required within the profession through practical skills workshops.
  • Networking opportunities with actuaries across different sectors.
  • Up to date information on the latest internships, placements and graduate schemes - especially those exclusive to the University of Leicester.
  • Entry to international actuarial conferences.

But,  ultimately make you more competitive within the actuarial job market.

Throughout each Semester we will organise various workshops, networking oppurutnites and employer talks to give you a better understanding of what an actuarial career incolves and increase potential emplyer's awareness of what you have to offer. This will help you develop professionally whilst also meeting your social and intellectual interests.
