Ultimate Frisbee is a dynamic, self-refereed, and non-contact team sport, celebrated as one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK. Played all year-round on grass, indoors, and even on the beach, it offers a perfect blend of high-energy athleticism and strategic gameplay. There are three competitive divisions: Open (Men's), Women's, and Mixed.

Who are the Jesters?

We're the official Ultimate Frisbee team at the University of Leicester. The Jesters are all about a love for the game and creating a great environment for our members. We believe in being inclusive and making sure everyone feels welcome, whether they're at a social event, a training session, or a competitive tournament.

Our club offers a unique balance of performance and player development. We focus on improving skills and achieving competitive success while ensuring everyone has a positive, enjoyable experience

Notable achievements for Last Season 

• Mixed Team:

  • 3rd place at UXON Mixed Division 2 Indoor Nationals.

  • 3rd place at UKU University Mixed Outdoor Nationals in Birmingham, Division 2.

• Women's Team:

  • 3rd place at Division 2 Indoor Nationals.

• Men's Team:

  • 2nd place at UKU University Men's Outdoor Nationals Division 2.

FAQ

Q: I’ve never played Frisbee before, is that a problem?

A: Not at all. The majority of our members learn to play Ultimate Frisbee at university. Our trainings are designed to accommodate all skill levels, ensuring everyone learns and develops together.

Q: How often are games?

A: We compete in BUCS games every Wednesday afternoon, both at home in Oadby and away (with travel provided). We also participate in regular tournament weekends throughout the year, which offer a great opportunity to play multiple games in a fun and competitive setting.

Q: What costs are associated with Ultimate Frisbee?

A: The main costs include:

• Team membership: £20
• Team Leicester membership: £110
• Alternatively, a Gold Gym membership at £165 (early bird) or £198 (standard) gives you access to both university gyms and Team Leicester membership for the year.
• Additionally, there are costs for tournament travel and entry fees (typically £10-£20 per tournament), though we work hard to keep these as low as possible.

Q: What do I need to bring to trainings?

A: Please come dressed in sports attire and trainers. We also recommend bringing a bottle of water. For outdoor trainings, football boots (cleats) are useful but not essential.

Q: How do I join?

A: The best way to get started is to come down to any of our trainings to give it a go! You can purchase your membership from the University website.
