Please note: The Education Unit is changing! Going forward, we will be called the Advice Service, as we now offer you advice and support on more than just academic issues. We still advise on what we did before (such as academic appeals, mitigating circumstances, complaints, misconduct etc.), however we have expanded to be able to advise on some housing issues, and signposting to other services for support. Keep an eye on our website and social media for more updates on our full launch.
We are located on the First Floor of the Percy Gee Building (above Reception). Our opening hourse remain as 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Feel free to drop by during these times. For advice or to book an appointment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com or call 0116 223 1132.
We are also open all summer, so if you need advice outside of term time, get in touch as we're happy to help!
It’s not unusual to worry about your academic work during your time at University, or sometimes fall foul of the rules and regulations. Lots of students do, and that’s one of the reasons we created the Advice Service / Education Unit (ED).
Here in the Advice Service we provide advice and guidance on a range of different issues and University processes, including:
So, if you’re not coping with your studies for whatever reason, come and talk to one of our friendly advisors, as we're always happy to help. We offer a confidential service to all students, and it’s free.
There are lots of ways you can speak to an Advisor - if you can't pop in to see us, you're a Distance Learner, or you'd prefer to speak to us online, why not try a Skype or Facebook chat appointment? See below for details of how you can get in touch, or if you'd prefer to read up about an issue yourself, on the left you’ll find links to useful information and procedures about academic issues. You can also visit the University's website for more information on the support services they provide.
