What is Rheumatology?

Rheumatology can be a really exciting area of study to be involved in with many rare and interesting diseases out there – it’s definitely not just Arthritis! In fact rheumatologists are engaged in a whole host of areas:
 • Inflammatory joint disease
• Degenerative joint disease
• Autoimmune disease
• Back problems
• Chronic inflammatory diseases
• Soft tissue disorders
• Metabolic bone disorders
• Crystal arthropathies
• Musculoskeletal infections
• Paediatrics

?Our Events

Every year the Rheumatology Society organises a number of events for med students. Some highlights in the coming year will include:
• Clinical Revision Series run by UHL Registrars and Consultants
• Phase 1 Revision Events
• Networking and Careers events
• Rare Diseases Lecture
• Research based meetings

We hope RheumSoc will be a fun and welcoming space to bring together students interested in Rheumatology
