Our motto is "fun, fitness, fairness"
- We aim to increase female participation in sports across the university
- We aim to raise awareness of the challenges facing women in sport
- We aim to help female students understand their health and fitness needs
- We aim to encourage interest in, and support for, women's sporting teams
- We aim to ensure that women have equal and fair opportunities in university sports and exercise
The UoL Women In Sport Society is a female-only social society centred around sports. We'll have educational and inspirational talks, charity fundraisers, watch parties, social gatherings, match day outings and more. We'll campaign for better sport and fitness opportunities on campus for female students, like a women's hour at the university-managed leisure centres. We'll create feedback channels for female athletes to tell us about successes and concerns, so that we can give tailored support.
If you're not a "sporty" person - you don't have to be! We're here to improve the health and wellbeing of all female students; that could mean supporting your mental health socially, offering opportunities to educate yourself on women's health issues, or creating small groups for non-sport exercise like walks or the gym.
