Welcome to the University of Leicester Gymnastics Team

Who are we?

We are the gymnastics team for the University of Leicester. Created in 2024, our first year has been incredibly successful and rewarding. We’ve built a vibrant and inclusive community for students of all abilities, whether you’re an elite gymnast, a complete beginner looking to try something new or rekindling an old hobby. Our society offers a mix of training sessions, social events, and opportunities to compete. In 2024-2025 we competed in the UGC league and in 2025-2026 we will be competing in UGC again as well as BUCS. We take pride in fostering a supportive environment where everyone can progress at their own pace while having fun and building lasting friendships and communities.

Training

Wednesdays, 8:00–9:30pm — The Herewoode Academy (Glenfield Rd, Leicester LE3 6DN)

Key Information : Training usually takes place on Mondays with a personal coach. Until we secure a new coach, sessions will run on Wednesdays instead. These sessions are supervised by a coach, though please note members of the public may also be training at the same time.

Memberships

We hold one week of give-it-a-go sessions at the start of the first and second semesters, which are free of any fees and allow you to see if the society is for you/what you can expect.

5th of October -8:00–9:30pm 

Please fill out the google form in our Instagram bio if you would like to attend one of these sessions, and we will be in contact with you closer to the time to confirm your attendance at a session.

After this week, we offer a few options to access our training: 

Memberships:

• Standard Membership – £30 — Includes access to all weekly Wednesday gymnastics sessions, where members enjoy a discounted training rate of £5 per session as part of the UOL Gymnastics Society. However, it's supervised sessions until we secure a new regular coach; our weekly sessions will run on Wednesdays instead. Please note that members of the public may also be training at the same time.
• Social Membership – £7 — for those not looking to train or compete but who'd like to join us for socials
• Competition Membership — requires an additional top-up, dependent on whether we're able to secure a personal coach

Those wanting to compete in BUCS and UGC will need to additionally purchase a leotard, however more information will be provided closer to the time.
