Badminton Club Introduction

• We are one of the largest student groups in Leicester, offering a friendly space to meet new people and play badminton. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a national standard, come along to see what we have to offer you!

• We currently have a squad of 5 teams (3 men's and 2 women's) and compete in weekly BUCS fixtures on Wednesdays and the Leicestershire badminton league.

• We have 2 level two coaches who can help improve your game if you want to, or you can ask your fellow players.

• We hold a wide range of drinking and non-drinking socials throughout the year including the classic Walkabout followed by the infamous O2 EVERY WEEK!

• You can join any time in the year, not just during freshers week!
• If you want to keep fit, meet new people and have a blast then we are the club to join!
• Inclusive & beginner-friendly – Everyone’s welcome, no experience needed.
• Meet new people – Make friends and maybe find your next doubles partner...
• Learn & improve – Get tips from experienced players during games, play alongside BUCs team players.
• Stay active & de-stress – A fun way to keep fit and take a break from studies since university can be stressful and challenging. 
• Fun socials & events – Weekly sessions from friendly tournaments to quiz nights and parties.

You can have a free taster session before deciding to join us or you can just sign up today!

• Team Leicester/Gym membership is required to join the BUCS team. 
• Club registration: 
  -£50: Non BUCS Membership
  -£55: BUCS Membership (Must be on qualifying team to purchase)

Training times:

University buses are available for transportation between Oadby and the University Campus

• Mondays: 19:00 to 22:00 -> Charles Wilson Sports Hall Team Training
• Tuesdays: 12:00 to 14:00 -> Charles Wilson Sports Hall Social Play
• Thursdays: 18:00 to 20:00 -> Charles Wilson Sports Hall Team Training
• Saturdays: 16:00 to 19:30 -> Charles Wilson Sports Hall Team Training
• Sundays: 9:00 to 12:00 -> Danielle Brown Sports Centre Social Play
