What is Futsal?

Futsal is an exciting, intense sport where defence becomes attack in a matter of seconds. It is a game strongly likened to 5 a side football but with differences such as kick ins, stop clock and rolling subs.

The sport relies on and develops good footwork, a high level of shooting and decision making under pressure. These skills are something that we focus on teaching and can be transferred back into football.

We welcome those of all abilities into our club who wish to compete, develop, play casually, and meet new people!!

Our Offer

In 2026/27 Futsal will offer:

Frequent games in various tiers in the BUCS leagues against other universities
Access to weekly training sessions
2 competitive BUCS teams (British Universities & Colleges Sports competitions)
IMS Campus Leagues (Recreational Futsal)
Frequent social and group events

General Club Information

-Coaching-

Our coach for the 2026/27 season will be Dave Bamford.

-Training and Matches-

BUCS matches are on Sundays of semesters 1 & 2 and consist of both home and away fixtures, all travel to away matches is included*

-Intramural Campus Leagues-

The IMS Campus League is a recreational competition run by the club that is available to anyone who wishes to have fun and meet people.

All players selected for BUCS & Local League teams/squads will need to purchase a TL Sports Memberships Membership | Sport and Active Life | University of Leicester & a club membership (£TBC) by clicking the join button on this page.
