UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER RUGBY LEAGUERugby League is a fast, physical and highly skilful 13-a-side sport, where teams have six tackles to build an attack before possession changes hands. It combines speed, strength, decision-making and teamwork — but you don’t need to be the biggest or strongest player to make an impact. At University of Leicester Rugby League, we’re about much more than what happens for 80 minutes on a Wednesday. Our club is built around teamwork, communication and respect, creating an environment where everyone can develop, compete and enjoy being part of something together. Whether you’re completely new to Rugby League or already have years of experience, there’s a place for you here. As a BUCS Midlands 2 side, we provide regular competitive match experience alongside quality, challenging training designed to help every player improve their fitness, skills, game awareness and confidence. But what really makes ULRLFC special is the team environment. There’s always something going on away from the pitch, with weekly socials, nights out, meals, local events and team activities throughout the year. We also have some of the biggest events in the club calendar to look forward to, including our annual tour, Christmas Dinner, Sports Awards and our much-loved Old Boys event, bringing current players and former Leicester Rugby League graduates together for a proper celebration of the club. From training sessions and match days to tour, socials and everything in between, we want everyone to feel like they’re part of the same team — on and off the pitch. So whether you’re an experienced player, completely new to Rugby League, or just looking for a new sport and a group of people to get involved with, come along to one of our training sessions.
