Leicester’s biggest weekly student night - LetsDisko – is temporarily moving to Athena in Leicester City Centre for terms 2 and 3, before returning to campus in September 2027.
Rockstar Promotions will continue to run LetsDisko at Athena, bringing with them the same music, drinks prices, ticket prices, giveaways and more.
This is a short-term (six-months, Jan-July 2027) move only and we are excited about seeing Rockstar Promotions and LetsDisko return to a much improved on-campus nightclub in the new academic year.
This move is to allow for a major refurbishment of the current nightclub at Percy Gee, which is being carried out by the University. We’re advocating for student safety, value for money, student jobs and of course ensuring high quality nights out.
The background
You might remember that back in April the University announced plans to invest in the redevelopment of the Percy Gee Building and a refurbishment of the nightclub space.
Since then your Students’ Union has worked with the University to ensure student experience remains at the heart of the Percy Gee. We’re supporting with developing plans around nightclub operations and we’ll provide further updates as soon as we’re able.
We’re reassured to have seen progress on commitments made around:
- A refurbished nightclub facility remaining on our campus
- Expanded practice spaces for student societies
- Additional social spaces for students to relax and connect
- New and improved prayer and contemplation spaces
- A refreshed SU Square area
- Additional storage areas for student club & society equipment
Want to find out more or feed into plans?
In the next few months, we’ll be putting out a call for students to help us feed into designs around renovated spaces across the Percy Gee building. We’ll be asking what you want your space to look like and how you’d like to see it developed.
For now - all of the information on the changes and interim measures in regards to LetsDisko can be found on the Leicesterunion.com website.
