What is the ideas system?

The Ideas System is the easiest way to share your suggestions and vote on ideas from other students. When you submit an idea, the Student Voice Team and an Executive Officer will review it. We only decline ideas if they:

  • Break the law
  • Prevent us from meeting our charitable obligations
  • Name or identify individuals (including staff)
  • Contain defamatory or harmful content

If there’s an issue, we’ll contact you, explain why, and help you adjust the idea. You’ll also be told how to appeal.

  • Under 50 likes: The idea fails and there is no further action required. The relevant Council may decide to develop the idea further with the student.

  • 50–99 likes: The idea must be discussed by the relevant Council. They may choose to take no further action, create a plan or develop a policy for Leicester100.

  • 100+ likes: You can present your idea to Leicester100 (if you have a full policy). If not, a Council will create a policy or action plan with you.

Free Hospital Hopper Access for 3rd-Year School of Business Students

    Current

Allow third year School of Business students free access to the Hospital Hopper bus which would allow easier travel to the Brookfield Campus for those living-off campus.

The Hospital Hopper passes directly by Brookfield but is only free for medical students. Third year business school students are required to attend classes in Brookfield despite a lack of need to travel there previous years. Additionally, students beyond first year are not guaranteed on-campus university accommodation therefore the majority of third year students live off campus. Although the university already provides a shuttle bus to Brookfield, this is quite inefficient for those living off campus as it requires travelling to the main campus first, the time taken to do so could be used to take the bus directly to Brookfield.

Therefore I believe the free hospital hopper access should be extended to third year students when travelling to Brookfield as it would be an easier and more time efficient for students.
