It so happens that this year is a year of new experiences, planned or not.
From the planned perspective:
- At the start of the term we are electing not only Academic Reps, generally known as Course Reps and Department Reps, but also the Students Council Reps, the Scrutiny and Democratic Procedures members and the Postgraduate Part-Time Officer, all across the first three weeks of the autumn term. It is going to be busy but it will be worth it.
- We brought all our student leaders in one place, to ensure that they are able to network and keep informed with the developments in your student and academic experience.
- We found new interactive ways through which training can be fun, not just information heavy, and we have trialled it before talking about it, so we'd tell no lies.
From the unplanned perspective:
- A wider use of online platforms, means that there will be less troubleshooting and ease of access.
- Even though some staff will be present in a more remote format, we will continue to have an 'Open door policy', not just a virtual one but an actual one as well.
- The matters raised regarding student experience will differ, for sure, when compared to past years. That doesn't mean that we are not here to represent your interest and to lobby the University to offer the best experience possible.
We're excited and will be ready!
