Hello, My name is Maria Matuszyk and I am running for the position of Students' Union Representative (Accessibility Network) because I believe I can implement changes that will better the Accessability student representation and their experience at University. I have experience holding the position of Head of House Council which developed my skills for public speaking and implementation of change project which I believe these make me an ideal candidate.
If elected I would aim to:
- Increase the checks on course materials by emphasising the need for assessing with an 'Accessability Consciousness' standard (Whether the material - to the best of its ability - caters to the needs of Accessability students) during teaching evaluations.
- Introduce a Reflection Platform on which Accessability students can submit complaints or proposals for change anonymously that can then be passed on to the Council.
I think these aims will have a positive impact because they will ensure greater consideration to Accessability students' needs and create a platform on which complaints or suggestions can be addressed more readily.
Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me to ask my any questions about my ideas by contacting: mmm56@student.le.ac.uk
