As a Sikh, we believe all religions are equal and practising your religion is a necessity and there shouldn't be any barriers within the university or any conflict by practicing your religion especially with racism still a massive problem in the society, that too, in university since it's so diverse.
Having been an active member of the Sikh society for 2 years, now in the committee in my third year, I believe I can really make a difference with what I have learnt not only through Sikh society, but also through my own practice.
As the interfaith student union representative, it's my duty to ensure that all religions are treated fairly and can rely on me for any issues, not only will I be a representative for the individual but also for the participating religious and faith societies.
