Description

For those that love theatre and performance in all its forms, welcome to Leicester University Theatre. As one of the University’s oldest societies, LUTheatre has given the student body the opportunity to direct, write and perform in plays and variety pieces throughout their academic life for over 50 years.

In addition to the 8 full-length productions that we perform each year, we also offer a variety of activities – from our Proteus performance evenings (where writers exhibit short sketches or sketch comedy with an assorted mix of actors and directors) to Open House sessions, where we relax with some drama games and workshops to build confidence in performing for the stage.

If you're not interested in getting onstage and basking in the limelight, join our dynamic technical crew, where we provide training for backstage disciplines including stage management, sound and lighting design and operation, set construction, properties, wardrobe and makeup, as well as other areas such as publicity and marketing, and front of house sales!

There are also additional opportunities to get involved with, including collaborative events with other societies, charity fundraising and outreach sessions.

Here you can find out about our upcoming productions, as well as planned socials, theatre trips, and other events and pieces of information to look out for.

Committee contacts can be found on our website under the "Committee" tab.
