THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PERTAINS TO USAGE OF THE CHARLES WILSON PRAYER ROOMS. PLEASE FOLLOW THIS INFORMATION VERY CAREFULLY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS
Assalamu alaykum.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. All those who wish to use the prayer rooms in the Charles Wilson building should bring their own prayer mat. Use of the carpet would be very risky not just to you, but to others around you so please refrain from using the carpet.
2. FACE MASKS should be worn at ALL TIMES. Hand sanitising stations have been placed next to both the brothers’ and sisters’ prayer rooms. Please sanitise your hands when entering and when leaving the prayer rooms.
3.QR CODES may be placed on the wall next to both prayer rooms. It is highly recommended that you use the NHS app to check in to the prayer rooms. It is also highly recommended that you swipe your Student ID card on the card reader outside of the prayer room before entering.
4.The university is looking to provide disposable prayer mats. These should only be used when absolutely necessary to avoid wastage. We highly recommend keeping your own prayer mat in your bag for when you need to pray (disposable prayer mats are not yet available so please keep this in mind). Once a disposable mat is used it should be disposed of straight away and not left in the prayer rooms.
5.Whilst in the prayer rooms and the corridor all users must maintain strict social distancing of TWO METRES. Insha Allah stickers will be placed over the coming week to show where people should pray and queue.
6.If a prayer room has reached its maximum occupancy then those waiting, should wait outside behind the barrier. A maximum of THREE PEOPLE are allowed to queue at any given time.
7.For the SISTERS’ prayer room, a MAXIMUM OF FOUR people are allowed in at any given time. SISTERS should bring scarves from home as the ones in the prayer room can no longer be used.
8.For the BROTHERS’ prayer room, a MAXIMUM OF 6 people are allowed in at any given time.
9.It is recommended that if the prayer room is busy one should pray and then leave to allow someone who is waiting to pray Insha Allah.
10.The ablution (wudu) facilities will remain open. However, only TWO people are allowed to use the facilities at any given time and those in the facilities should maintain strict social distancing
Insha Allah any updates to this situation will be posted as soon as they are available.
Jazakallahu Khair for your understanding and your patience in this trying time.
May Allah reward us for our sabr and grant us more Insha Allah and may Allah reward all those who have helped to make sure that the prayer rooms remain usable during this time. Ameen
