Students Action For Refugees and over 80% of UK citizens, including small business owners.
STAR is part of the Lift the Ban coalition along with over 200 organisations, campaigning for the right to work for people seeking asylum in the UK. People seeking asylum are banned from working while they wait months and often years for a decision on their asylum claim.
The repercautiions of this ban woill be on a national scale and STAR leicester in collaboration with all our sanctuary partners are creating awareness by this capmpaign "LIFT THE BAN". The right to work is equivalent to the right to live because, the neccessities of life cost money and if we get serious about preventing labour exploitation and the reduction of illegal actiivties this campaign needs to be on the tip of our lips at all times.
