About us:
Our hockey club is an inclusive and friendly place. We strive for performance, whilst making sure to value the fun in hockey.
Competetively, both the Mens and Ladies sections of the club have first and second teams that compete in BUCS Wednesday matches. For further training and competitive opportunities, many players within the club also participate in the local Midlands League as part of a partnership with Leicester Hockey Club.
In addition to our games and training, we have plenty of socials. We have themed weekly Wednesday socials, as well as a variety of special events, including charity tournaments, awards evenings and the end of season Hockey Ball. Internal club socials allow for tighther club and team bonds, but we also join forces with other Team Leicester societies throughout the year which have been some of the best in recent years! If you're not a big drinker, you're always encouraged and welcome to particiate in the social life of the club, as many of our non-drinking members already do, and we have plenty of more opportunities for relaxed socials, such as Leicesters Tigers games and climbing socials.
We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and fun-loving environment that feels like a family, providing an opportunity to make friends for life! The Hockey Club is for anyone who wants to meet a group of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the sport, have a great time and maximise their uni experience.
Annually, the Hockey Club participates in the Bournemouth 7s festival which is a great opportunity to meet new people and have an absolute blast! This has been a highlight for many within the club.
Outside of hockey, we partake in the Netball Campus League (an internal University competition made up of various sports club and society teams), with both the Mens and Ladies coming together to socialise and compete. Previously, we won the league and last year 24/25 we placed in the top 5 of 16 teams.

Team Leicester and UOLHC Memberships
- Team Leicester and Club Memberships do not need to be bought until part way through October so new players have time to experience the club and meet everyone before committing fully.
Membership Cost: £50

- This membership type is neccessary for active players within the club - must be bought in tandem with a Team Leicester membership.
Social Membership Cost: £10
- This membership covers non-competors but those who still want to participate in the club more generally!
- For Saturday League hockey, a £6 match fee must be paid for every Saturday game played with LHC, either through bank transfer or cash on the day.
