The University of Leicester Motorsport and Karting Society is your gateway to the world of racing, whether you live to race cars, bikes, or karts, or enjoy the thrill of watching high-speed action. We’re an inclusive, friendly community where the focus is on having a blast and making unforgettable memories!

Throughout the year, we host exhilarating social kart races at Sutton Circuit, Leicester, perfect for racers of all skill levels. Our Social Championship features around six competitive yet fun rounds – will you claim the top spot this year?

 

 

The highlight of our racing calendar is the British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC), where you can experience true karting excitement. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced kart racer, the BUKC has something for you! Picture this: accelerating from 5-60mph in just 4.5 seconds, racing at top speeds of 70mph in the UK's finest arrive-and-drive 2-stroke karts. Last year, our two teams finished P22 and P28 – this year, we’re aiming for more teams and even better results. Could you be part of the action?

 

 

Not a racer? No problem! If you love motorsport, you’ll feel right at home with our social events. From F1 pub watch parties to attending professional racing events, we’ve got something for everyone. Plus, thanks to our partnership with the Loaded Dog Pub, you’ll enjoy fantastic discounts on selected food and drinks at our socials.

 

 

We’re also proud to compete in varsity, where we claimed victory in 2024 and 2025, and we are regularly invited to the university’s Sports Awards Evening to celebrate our achievements.
