Women’s rugby is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, you can be a part of it now too! We’re an exciting and diverse group connected by rugby, who enjoy socialising playing rugby and having fun together!

Training sessions are twice a week during term time, 18.30-20.00 on Tuesdays and 18.00-19.30 on Fridays at the Roger Bettles Sports Centre, near The Village in Oadby, our training sessions are for players of any experience level and ability.

We have 1 team which is in BUCs Midlands 1A League, the matches are on Wednesdays at Stoughton Pitches in Oadby for home games. Friendly matches are also organised to give match opportunities to everyone, as well as touch rugby games that are often played.

Socials are every Wednesday in the evenings run by our great social secretaries, who always come up with a fun theme, and then off to Lets Disko at the O2 academy on campus if you want. We offer social memberships for anyone who finds out rugby isn’t the sport for them, but still enjoy our socials. We also do weekend socials during the Six Nations (2nd February to 16th March), so we can watch the matches as a team.

Once a year Varsity takes place, where we play the DMU women’s rugby union team at Welford Road Stadium, home to the Leicester Tigers Premiership men's and women’s teams, which is an amazing end to the season and an unforgettable experience. Rugby Varsity is a huge event in the University’s sporting calendar and an event which we have never lost!

Team Leicester Membership: starting from £100

Match fees: £2-£4 per game

You need both a ULWRFC and a Team Leicester membership to train and play matches.

What Team Leicester Memberships do we recommend?

• Standard Team Leicester Membership will ONLY cover training and matchday facility access. 

• Gold membership provides access to both the University Sports Centres and your club activities. The sports centre facilities are great for your Strength and Conditioning Sessions, general fitness and recovery! See the table below for more details.
