Men’s football comprises five competitive teams as well as additional development teams which makes it one of the biggest clubs here at the University of Leicester. With more teams than most sports, there’s a level for everyone; last year we had over 210 members across the club. University football is the best opportunity to make the most of your university experience. Whether you're looking to play competitively from the excellent coaching of our very own UEFA A qualified coach, or just love playing with your mates; there is an opportunity for everyone!
As well as the competitive squads, we also take part in the Campus Leagues, which gives you the opportunity to play with your course mates/ society against other courses and societies on a weekly basis. This year we will be entering our development teams to maximise the football opportunities you will get. Away from the pitch, we have a very fun and welcoming social group. Last year there were many fun activities, such as Pub Golf, Christmas Party and a tour to Croatia!
With training held at least three times a week there is ample opportunity for you to develop your skills as well as establishing yourself within the club. There has never been a better time to join, as the club continues to progress towards becoming a formidable force within university football.
Each of our four competitive sides that competed against DMU in Varsity 2022 came out on top making it a clean sweep for ULFC, with the highlight of the week being the Men’s 1st team 2-1 victory in front of a ferocious atmosphere of over 400 students at Beaumont Park Stadium.
We have 5 teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sports’ (BUCS) leagues and knock-out cup competitions. Games are played weekly on a Wednesday afternoon with our home fixtures being held at Stoughton playing fields; known as some of the best grass pitches in the West Midlands.
Outside of BUCS we will also be entering our development teams into an 11-a-side IMS Campus league to compete against other clubs and societies. IMS Campus leagues will be played on a weekend with the opportunity to impress and be moved up into the development team. Development teams will also take part in a 7-a-side competition on Thursday evenings on our astro. There really is no shortage of football at ULFC.
If you have any questions regarding our development teams and IMS Campus leagues you can get in touch with our IMS coordinator Dylan Skuse email@example.com Alternately check out our IMS Campus league Instagram @ulfc_ims
Information on entering teams not associated with ULFC can be found at Intramural | Sport and Active Life | University of Leicester
Our club membership is £45 for the whole season
Club membership can be purchased in the top right hand corner where it says: Please log in to join this organisation.
This membership can also be purchased as of the 1st of September using the link below:
If you are only taking part in IMS Campus leagues you will only need to purchase the £45 membership.
However, players competing in BUCS competitions will need to purchase the Team Leicester sports membership starting at £100 alongside the £45 membership. We would recommend paying £150 for a Gold gym membership for which includes the Team Leicester sports membership. This can be found:
Membership | Sport and Active Life | University of Leicester
It will cost £5 to trial - tickets can be purchased on the SU website soon. Alternitevely, we are looking to have a card reader at the venue.
