What is Quadball?
Quadball is a fast-paced, full-contact sport best described as a mix of rugby, handball and dodgeball.
The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible against the other team.
Some of the team try to put a volleyball through the opposing team's hoops to gain 10 points. The rest of the team carry dodgeballs, which are used to tap players of the opposing team, taking them out of play and making them run back to their hoops to tap back into the game.
Quadball is known for its unique game mechanics and fantastic community, as well as being inclusive of all gender identities. There's something for everyone, so come along and give it a try!
OUR SOCIETY
Our society is about far more than just competitive sport; we provide a variety of social events, including themed bar crawls, bowling, and end-of-term balls! We decide on socials based on the vibe of the society each year and we are always open to suggestions!
Community is a big part of Quadball, with a large network of players all over the country regularly competing in both official and unofficial tournaments. Many unofficial tournaments allow players to compete on a team made up of players from a mixture of different teams, advancing both friendships and Quadball skills. One of our favourite tournaments is Odyssey which is usually played in October/November and is specifically designed for first-time players!
In the past, we have competed in many tournaments, including the British Quadball Cup (BQC) and the European Quadball Cup (EQC). Most recently, we had some members of our society compete with a local community team at BQC, allowing them to advance their Quadball skills and mix with new players.
We are one of the most inclusive societies for LGBTQ+, open to trans* and non-binary players as part of the world’s most gender-inclusive sport.
