The Student Sustainability Working Group (SSWG) is a student-led group open to all students which focuses on projects related to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Come along to share your ideas about how we can be more sustainable, get involved in projects, or get up to £500 funding for your own sustainability-related projects!
For the 2019/20 academic year we're planning on re-branding the SSWG so that it clearly reflects that it involves all aspects of sustainability, including gender equality, reducing poverty/hunger and promoting health, well-being and good education. Alongside this, we'll be making it a more inclusive forum where staff and students from across the University can share their ideas and pool resources to make sustainability initiatives even more successful.
Meetings take place once a month. For more information, sign up to the opportunity on the Volunteer Portal, join our Facebook Group or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteers will gain a range of skills including leadership, teamwork and communication, as well as a broader understanding of sustainability. Volunteers will be able to work on individual projects which are meaningful to them as well as contributing ideas to the SSWG to work on collectively, such as for Go Green Week!
