Volunteering as a Committee Member

If you are currently a committee member - did you know you are a volunteer? You don't get paid for the hard work you do all year making your societies enjoyable and educational. All those hours that go into a successful society shouldn't go un-noticed and that is why you should work to get them onto your Higher Education Achievement Report or HEAR for short.

There is more guidance on what there HEAR is and what is looks like, but what you need to do is follow this guide we have made for you.
It's a step by step guide showing you all the steps from Record to Reflect. All we need you to do is ensure all your hours are recorded with us so we can send them off at the end of the year. You can find a copy of it below:

Record to Reflect Guide

Please do not backdate to the previous academic year (2015.2016) Your timesheet will be declined. If you would like to have a previous years hours recognised please get in touch with su-community@le.ac.uk with the hours you would like to submit.

What do you need to do?

  • You need to have attended at least 3 committee meetings per term.
  • You need to have completed at least 2 online training sessions - we can check these records so all you need to tell us is how long it took you.
If you are not a core committee member please fill this in for the sessions you did decide to have a go at!
  • You need to have completed 5 hours of extra volunteering outside of your role- so whether that is helping to fundraise money for your society when you are the social secretary or manning the freshers table as the kit secretary - these hours count!
  • There needs to be a minimum of 25 hours submitted in to us for it to appear on your HEAR.

Remember if you don't record it - we can't count it!
