Image of AnneMarie Deeb, Education Officer 2022/23    About me. Hi! I am AnneMarie and I’m your Education Officer for 2022/23. Course: MSc Forensic Science and Criminal Justice and MSc Criminology. Hometown: Syracuse, New York. How do you think your friends and family would describe you? I would like to think they would describe me as bubbly and adventurous with a big heart.    What inspired you to become an Executive Officer? I first came to the university as a study abroad student and fell in love with the uni, my course, the city, and the people. As a master's student I found my course exciting and rewarding. Then the pandemic took away so much from the student experience. I want to help return students to a smooth and enjoyable academic experience while continuing to reward them for their accomplishments.

What you can offer students in your role: I want to help make your education at Leicester the best it can be. I am here to listen, support and help make change. Contact me at su-education@le.ac.uk.    What is the most important change you want to make this year? I want to work towards a compassionate curriculum that rewards and supports our students that doesn't just stop with the curriculum, it extends into all area's academia including physical spaces. I will continue to work with the university on Assessment and Mitigating Circumstances, work to provide high quality modules with a strong curriculum, improve your academic spaces and recognize student needs and successes.    Hobbies and Interests: When I am not working you can find me traveling, playing volleyball, or hanging out with my cat. Favorite Book: I am very into Colleen Hoover right now and loved her book November 9th. Favorite Song: Good days by Sza Series: Taskmaster, Love Island and River Monsters
