Education Officer

Image of Prachi Bhatt, Education Officer 2023/24    About Course: MSc Cloud Computing with Industry Hometown: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India How do you think your friends best describe you? My friends best describe me as ambitious, passionate and a compassionate person!    What inspired you to become an Executive Officer? I’m an international student and chose University of Leicester due to its rewarding course and diversity. While we are still trying to get our lives back to normal post pandemic, I want to make sure that every student here at UoL feels seen, heard and supported throughout. I also believe that education should be more than just memorising facts and taking tests. Besides, I have a passion for technology and innovative learning methods. And with that notion I would like to use my skills and knowledge to make education more awesome for all of us.

What can you offer students in your role? I want every student at UoL to know that I’m here to help them in every situation, no matter what. I can be contacted via email or just pop in the SU office to chat about your concerns!     What is the most important change you want to make this year? I would like to help students have a smooth transition to in-person teaching and enhance their overall student experience (not just limited to academics). I will work with the University on increasing the visibility of school reps, course reps and also continue working on the assessment and feedback, mitigating circumstances by keeping students' needs in mind.    Hobbies and Interests What you like doing in your spare time In my spare time you might find me rewatching my favourite series. I love dancing (fun fact: I am a trained classical dancer) and playing badminton (might be a little rusty as I’ve not played it in a long time) Favourite Series: Suits, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Stranger Things Favourite Song/s: Who Says - Selena Gomez, Bad Blood - Taylor Swift, Baarishein - Anuv Jain
