Climate cafe information, sign ups and facilitator interest!

Climate Cafes

Climate Cafe's are coming to the Students' Union in 2024!

eco-anxiety

noun
extreme worry about current and future harm to the environment caused by human activity and climate change. she saw people in all age groups reporting eco-anxiety, though different ages can experience it in different ways

To help tackle the growing levels of eco-anxiety in young people, we have come together with the universities Sustainability Team to facilitate climate cafes. But what is a climate cafe?

'A climate cafe´ is a community-organised space for people to have open conversations about the climate crisis (including how it makes us feel). Every climate cafe´ is different: some might include unstructured discussions, while others could feature events and workshops. No two climate cafés look the same, yet they should all feel safe, open and accessible.' - Force of Nature

We do not currently have any upcoming cafe's as we are in the process of finalising details and making sure they are delivered to students and staff in the most effective way possible. So, keep an eye out for future updates and sign up information.

Are you a student and interested in becoming a facilitator to help run the sessions?

We are looking for student's who are passionate about helping others and creating climate action to volunteer to help facilitate the sessions.
It's a great opportunity for those in related courses, student groups or anybody just wanting to get involved with sustainability.
You would recieve training, staff support and a great addition to your CV.
