Find out about opening hours and COVID restrictions from Adnan and Mia.
We met with the University Librarian to clarify opening hours as we proceed with the government’s roadmap and approach the exam period, and how to ensure COVID-19 safety measures are adhered to.
The updated opening hours can be found here.
As I am sure you will all know and agree, the library has been a safe haven for students during this pandemic - it has provided a study space and learning resources outside of the home. And like you, we want to make sure that the library remains open for everyone.
The Library and SU are working together to help keep our students and staff safe when on campus. It is a shared space and we would encourage consideration of others. Unless exempt you must wear a face covering at all times when in the Library (including the group study rooms), maintain social distancing and only sit in designated study spaces. It is only by everyone working together that we can keep each other safe.
Whilst we do not encourage the policing of student behaviour, we do want to stress the importance of adhering to social distancing, mask wearing where applicable and co-operating with library staff members to maintain everyone’s safety.
More details of the rules can be found here.
Needless to say that this has been a year like no other where students in particular have suffered. We recognise the challenges that you have been through and share all of your frustrations. Thank you for coming to us with all of your concerns and for adhering to the rules and regulations.
As ever, we would continue to encourage you all to contact the Executive Team (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any concerns or queries you may have.
Thank you for for taking the time to read this, good luck with your exams and see you all on campus very soon,
Mia, President (20/21) and Adnan, Education Officer (20/21)
