We understand that money can be a source of a lot of anxiety when you're at University. Whether that be paying your rent or affording course materials, as a student, you deserve to have access to information and resources which can help when it comes to handling money. If you're struggling financially, take a look at the list below, and see if there are any services which may be helpful to you.

Free, confidential academic, housing and signposting advice.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm.

Free Legal Advice Clinic

The Legal Advice Clinic is a free service offered by Law students, academics and local professionals.

The clinic provides legal advice in several areas of law which we believe may prove to be relevant for our potential clients; e.g.

  • Landlord and Tenancy Law
  • Employment Law
  • Contractual Disputes
  • The Clinic cannot advise on actions against the University of Leicester, Criminal Law, and Personal Injury cases.
  • The Clinic cannot advise against issues that have already been to court, are going to court, or you have already / are seeking legal help from a practising firm at the time of the interview.

Provide advice on financial issues, immigration, housing, leaving care, childcare, bullying and harassment and benefits.

Citizens' Advice Leicestershire

An independent charity helping people in the local area by providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice and campaigning for better policies. They offer practical, up-to-date information and advice on a wide range of topics including debt, benefits, housing, family issues, discrimination, employment, immigration, and other problems.
