How to Student

Helping you along your student journey

If you are going through a transition or change before, during or after your time here at Leicester you have come to the right place.

We recognise that these transitions can fill you with both excitement and dread, so we are attempting to smooth over all of this and make it as easy as possible for you.

“At the Students’ Union, we are here to support you in your transition into University and we do this by prioritising student mental wellbeing and reducing barriers for anyone that identifies with our liberation groups. Understanding that students all come in from different lived experiences and this affects your time at uni, we want to ensure students are well looked after in what we can do for you and what you can do for yourself. A huge part of this includes creating an environment that allows for students to feel like they are part of a community and have a sense of belonging in Leicester. Most students struggle at some point, adapting to a new and ever-changing environment, so this toolkit is designed to ensure that the transition from one journey to another is a smooth as possible. Please do get in touch with us if there is anything else you need!”
