Hi there! We're Medics Squash and as the best medic sports club, we can safely say we're a club worth joining! We play on Fridays at 18.20pm at Princess Road East (3 minute walk from the medical school). We have a range of abilities from those who've never played before to some who play County level. Our socials are epic and it's a great way to meet new people. We've had couples who met through squash and are still going strong! So no excuses not to join! The group is open to all skill levels and it's an easy game to pick up, so even if you've never tried it before come and have a go! We have members who had never heard of squash until recently as well as some who have been playing for years. Training sessions involved a mix of training drills, fun games and practice matches and we always have music playing creating a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. Every spring, Birmingham Medical School hosts a Squash NAMS (National Association of Medic Sports) tournament, which sees Medical Schools from across the country playing against each other in a friendly competition and Leicester are once again getting involved in 2020! We also have a yearly varsity competition against Nottingham Medical School (as pictured above) which is always competitive but also a lot of fun. These both involve squash during the day followed by a big night out. We have a very friendly committee, Ed (captain), Adam (vice-captain), Fai (secretary) and Tom (social sec). We will have a stand at Freshers' fair so come and say hi and we hope to see you at sports night and at training! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email Ed at ea276@student.le.ac.uk ?Training: Every Friday from 18:20 - 19:40 at the university squash courts 121 Princess Road East (off university road) Leicester LE1 7LA If you want to find out more about the game, including the rules of play, you can go to the official England Squash and Racketball website: http://www.englandsquashandracketball.com/play-squash-and-racketball/ Check out our instagram @leimedicsquash Squash love x
