LMRFC are a bunch of guys that have been brought together through our love and enjoyment of rugby.
We welcome a wide range of abilities within the club, ranging from exceptional players who have competed at academy level to players who have never picked up a ball before University. No matter your skill, there is a place for you and you'll be welcomed with LMRFC love.
Our rugby philosophy is to enjoy our games and training, and from there our performances and results will follow! We are a friendly, approachable set of guys who support each other on and off the pitch, offering lots of academic support ranging from revision sessions to OSCE preparation.

Training is once a week, on Thursday evenings @ Manor Road (Oadby student village). Our main playing focus in the year is the annual NAMS (National Association of Medical Schools) tournament. We have a very competitive midlands division and games against rival medical schools Nottingham and Birmingham are often close fought, attracting big crowds with a great atmosphere. We also organise regular games against local teams in the area, this provides good opportunities for new players to get playing time and help develop their game and encourages team bonding.

Throughout the season we also participate in various unmissable exhibition matches including our Doctors' match against club alumni and of course our yearly varsity against our local rivals Nottingham. Away from the playing side of things we love to organise evening socials following most games, often involving a fun theme. Alongside these smaller socials we host comparatively larger ones like our Beer Festival during Winter and Summer, End of Season Meals and Sports Night during introweek where freshers get a taste of what LMRFC is all about. We also try to organise club trips to games to watch the Tigers and our yearly TOUR to destinations across the country and even internationally to compete against other teams.

We actively try and participate and fundraise in many charity events throughout the academic year. Over the past few years we have raised lots of money for charities such as the Movember foundation, mind and Cancer Research UK, and this Autumn we have set ourselves a goal as a club to run the Leicester Half Marathon.
