Calling all Jazz Musicians! 

We’re the University of Leicester Big Band! Winner of Student Group of the Year 2018/19

Do you sing or play trumpet, trombone, saxophone, guitar, bass, piano or percussion? If so, DM on our instagram @UoLBigBand and get in touch about joining!!!

We meet every week to rehearse a huge variety of Big Band classics from Stevie Wonder to Frank Sinatra and Gordon Goodwin to Sammy Nestico.

We have gigs all year round, featuring various academic balls, local music venues, and we’re the regular band for the prestigious Union Sports Awards.

We encourage everyone to try out both written and improvised solos and really get involved in the bands spirit and volume!

COVID-19 Information

Big Band are keeping up-to-date with COVID-19 regulations.

We are currently functioning as normal, however we are constantly keeping an eye on current guidlines and restrictions, and will be rehearsing accordingly if restrictions are reimposed.
