REHEARSALS: Mondays 7 - 9 PM in the SU Square (in front of Starbucks)
Leicester University Chorus is a friendly, welcoming fun-filled choir for all those who love to sing! There are no auditions, and everyone, no matter how experienced, is welcome. That's no reason not to still aim for a high standard however, and we are proud to have been voted the University's Performance Society of the Year 2012/13.
We cover a wide variety of material, from classical choral works and opera to pop songs and musical theatre hits; Handel to Coldplay and Adele, Bob Dylan to The Lion King, Wicked and Les Misérables - we sing everything and anything. We hold one concert a term, alongside other performance opportunities like singing at Graduation. We even did a Flash Mob at the Students' Union in 2019!
Joining Chorus also gives you the opportunity to sing solos and form your own small vocal groups. Our termly open mic nights (Cabarets) are a great opportunity to perform songs or other acts, from magic to burlesque to slam poetry. We also organise a whole range of social events, from pub nights, barcrawls and meals to an annual trip to a West End musical.
Come along and give it a go! If you have any questions, please do drop us an email!
