Concert Band is a friendly, relaxed & fun group with no auditions necessary.
We rehearse every Tuesday 7-9pm in the Charles Wilson Building, Floor 10, on Campus and aim to showcase our work at multiple performances a year, such as our end of term concerts or on-campus Christmas carol playing.
We play music of varying difficulty, ranging from traditional wind band repertoire to scores from stage and screen. Everyone is welcome, though we do recommend players have a good grasp of reading music and are able to play to at least grade 3 level to ensure you get the most out of our group! If you're not sure of your ability, definitely come along and have a go - we can always adapt parts to suit you!
Our group is for those who play woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. So if you play the flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, any saxophone, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, baritone, tuba, kit, tuned-percussion or any other instrument suitable for a concert wind band, this is ensemble for you.
We do also love to socialise, so after rehearsals and on weekends we often go out as well!

- Trips to see the Leicester Philharmonia Orchestra (and others) in concert at De Montfort Hall,
