ELSA is a non-political and non-profit organisation which strives to inspire and connect law students through social, academic, and professional opportunities which enable them to expand their legal knowledge and experience. Its purpose is to contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers.
ELSA Leicester is the Local Group of ELSA UK at the University of Leicester; founded in 2019. ELSA Leicester aims to develop Law and Non-Law students' soft skills. We broaden our members legal knowledge and transferable skills through a range of competitions, webinars, workshops, social media posts and emails. ELSA Leicester helps to secure students' places at various webinars and legal internships. Importantly, ELSA Leicester cares about its members' wellbeing. Last year, we successfully introduced a 'Mental Health Series' on our social media platforms where we collaborated with Nightline Leicester and the University of Leicester Wellbeing Officer - Karli Wagener.
Our reputation for excellence has been recognised multiple times with honours for the successful contribution to student growth and positive student experience. The recognition has included:
