Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières (FoMSF) is the official student support organisation for MSF, also known as Doctors Without Borders.
MSF is a humanitarian aid organisation that delivers emergency aid to people across the world affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters. With the ongoing regugee crisis, MSF are providing medical aid to those in refugee camps and on the sea, with search and rescue boats.
Our societies core aims:
?This is in addition to creating a community of friendly and like-minded students.
We have many events planned for the year including fundraising events such as open mics nights and a ball. We have speakers who have worked on the field with MSF coming to talk to us about their experiences. We help raise awareness of MSF campaigns such as their Access to Medicines campaign.
Want to make a real impact to real people in crisis? Get involved with Missing Maps, an exciting opportunites to help map unchartered territory to assist MSF and other humanitarian organisations in gaining fast access to vulnerable parts of the world in the event of crisis.
We are also excited to be running a Global Health Short Course alongside Students for Global Health, with 8 sessions over 8 weeks, covering a variety of topics such as communicable diseases; the link of culture and innovation to global health.
