We're looking for a Secretary and Treasurer to join this Society's Committee!

What is the Geography Society?

The Geography Society is here for Geographers to meet each other, interact and socialise. They work closely with departmental staff in order to provide the best experience possible for our members offering a range of activities from socials to sports teams, foreign exchanges and charity events.

In previous years, the society hosted regular social events enabling members to socialise across all year groups.

In previous years this group has:

• Run regular socials
• Hosted a virtual pub quiz
• Hosted a student vs. staff dodgeball game

How can I get involved? 

Being on Committee is also a fantastic way to gain great skills and experiences to make you stand out in your time at Leicester and beyond! This group is looking for:

• A Treasurer:
  • Keeps an accurate record of all expenditure and income for the Society
  • Processes all deposits and withdrawals from the Society's funding account
  • Ensures all society funds and charity donation funds are processed in line with the Students' Union's guidance
• A Secretary:
  • Responsible for taking accurate minutes for all Committee and General Meetings of the Society
  • Leads on emailing Society members
  • Maintains an up-to-date copy of Society affiliation documents and paperwork
