Hello, and welcome to our page,
We are the University of Leicester LGBTQ+ society!
We are a social and political group dedicated to championing queer students and providing a fun and safe community where we can celebrate our queerness. The previous academic year showed a boon in membership and support for the society, with our membership reaching back to our pre pandemic levels.
We have lots planned for this 24/25 academic year, we are happy to announce that we will be continuing our weekly catchup socials (LGBTea) every Wednesday and have a host of other events planned both alcoholic and sober events will be available throughout the year.
Additionally, our society organises fundraising events and campaigns for LGBT+ rights and awareness. We hope to be bringing back our annual fundraiser, Love Music Hate Homophobia, which has previously won "Best Event of the Year", it’s a night of performance and celebration where we champion queer and ally, musicians, comedians and other performers. We also hope to collaborate with other great societies as there is such a brilliant diversity of opportunity with other student groups.
