- Geology ball tickets are now on sale till 22/2/2023! Get them now in the products tab. 7pm start on Friday 10th March at the Mercure Hotel's Victorian ballroom - the Kings Hall
- Weekly Geology Colleries FC football available (saturday and sunday, 10,12 or 2 o'clock kick offs)
- Monday Night talks - Our next is Ed McGowans talk on Lake District Volcanoes, 5pm on 6/02 in LT5
2022-23 Updates:
- We're still in need of a talks secretary. Great for your CV and a brilliant way to make connections with the department and have your voice heard
- We've got a Fantasy Premier League going for 22-23. Get the Premier League app and join with our code: a9uozg
- Geology Colleries FC has a new badge, and a new kit on the way for next year. We'll be playing on saturdays and sundays at Oadby. It will cost you £5 PCSB membership and an additional £5 surcharge to play football for the whole year. (or £15 surcharge if you want to buy the kit to keep)
Who we are?
The Peter Colley Sylvester Bradley (PCSB) Geology Society was founded over 50 years ago and is one of the most active and dedicated, course-linked, student-led societies at University of Leicester
Historically membership has been over 200 members, we welcome undergraduates, postgraduates, staff and alumni to all our events.
We are the link between the department, the union and you.
What we do?
Monday Night Talks: Regular talks (usually at 5pm) from industry, researchers, visiting lecturers and PhD students. Delivered at a suitable level for all, and followed by a trip to the pub, these are the perfect opportunity to learn about active research, modern innovations in the field and career opportunities in industry. It's also a great way to get social and make connections.
Social Life: Our events include
- Red T-Shirt Bar Crawl
- Geology Collieries FC weekend football and Social Nights
- Inter-Science Bar Crawl
- Christmas Party
- Annual Geology Ball (has been held at the King Power, Tigers' Stadium and the city rooms in the past)
Fieldtrips: We usually offer a field trip for each semester, from local day trips to overnight stays further abroad. The cost of these trips is kept as low as possible to make them available for all.
