Students of Leicester University building a liberal future.
We are the youth branch of the Liberal Democrats here at Leicester University looking to make an impact on campus and in the wider community. We campaign actively and work alongside the local party, in both Leicester City and Oadby.
As Young Liberals, we strongly believe in tolerance, equality and Liberalism, but what does that mean?
Firstly on tolerance we believe no matter where you come from, no matter your race, gender, sexuality, or however else you identify, your voice is as important as anyone else's.
On Equality our party is moving towards advocating for a Universal Basic income, to act as a safety net to lift those in Poverty out. As a booster for small start-up businesses and the self employed during times of financial difficulty.
Young Liberals are fighting for a post-Covid Green Recovery Plan' that will put the climate on the forefront of British Politics whilst rebuilding a Liberal Economy that works for Britain.
We want to bring attention to Mental Health issues on campus, from reducing the time that students should wait for receiving support, to securing better funding for early intervention services.
We are fighting to bring about a change in politics, and an end to the old two party system that has left far too many disenfranchised, and allowed too many to slip through the net of Government support.
If you feel disgusted, ashamed, emabrrased or angry about the problems in our society, have had enough of the same political roundabout of the UK, and are sick of consecutive Government's inaction, then join today and start the fighting campaign.
Please get in touch with us if you are unsure if this is the party for you. You don't have to be a Party member to join, all you need is to fight for an open, tolerant and Liberal future.
