Find a Society

Sign up to our Mailing List to get weekly updates about the society and take a look at our events page to find out what's coming next!

Want to voice your opinions; socialise with a welcoming community; discuss interesting topics, debate competitively; or just improve your public speaking and self-confidence?

Then the debating society has you covered!

Come along to one of weekly debate and discussion sessions which are designed to be accessible as possible for beginners. Our sessions are held on Tuesday evening at (6-8pm) with the opportunity to chat and get to know each other better afterwards as well!

We offer a range of regular socials with something for everyone, from low-key pizza nights to drunken debates down at the pub! Socials are an excellent opportunity to meet new people and just have some fun. Check out the ‘events’ section for more!

As well as socials, we also run a variety of different events, including formal debate competitions with other universities (intervarsity); training workshops; opportunities to meet guest speakers; collaborations with other societies and more.

Why not come along and try something new?
