Effective Altruists Society

Could you lead this Student Group?

Head to Start a Society to get started!

Have you ever looked at a charity and wondered if what they're doing is really the best thing they could be doing with the money that others, and maybe even you, are giving to them? Well this is the society for you.

We're looking for a President, Treasurer and Wellbeing and Inclusion Ambassador!

The Effective Altruism movement is a worldwide movement dedicated to working out the best ways to help the world, both now and in the future. EA research and charities range from tackling global poverty, through programs such as GiveDirectly, which is providing basic income to villages in deprived areas and Evidence Actions deworming initative, which helps to prevent malnourishment, improve school attendance and improve overall long term health in African children by providing cheap, simple and reliable medications, to organisations helping to secure humanities long term future, through research and policy work in biodefense and nuclear security, among others. So if you want to work out the best way to make the world a better place, and perhaps how to use your career to do that, or maybe you're just interested in problems of moral philosophy, please re-start this society!
